Best Buffet in Austin - Asiana

March 31, 2018

I don't care how stuffy and pretentious you are, a buffet will always hit the spot when you're in need to a great meal that you can pick and choose from dozens of options.  Right?

Across the highway from the Bluff Springs Center, Asian Indian Cuisine will hit the spot if you love traditional and contemporary Indian food at a reasonable price.

The food is excellent and I highly recommend the vegetarian Asiana special dinner- #84 - just delicious and more than enough food for two.   We also tried the Chicken Tikka Masala everywhere in Austin and we LOVED this one!   The dosas are fantastic - we were expecting small and poorly-made potato-filled crepes. The potato filling by was yummy but the crepe was a rolled, 2 foot long crunchy piece of heaven.

The Dal Mahkani was rich and nicely spiced. The nan was warm and soft inside and crunchy on the outside, without being too browned.

A mild word of warning: My sister and her daughter can't tolerate spicy food. We've consistently requested that our dishes be made mild, and we've consistently been served radioactively spicy food. It seems that the kitchen isn't able to accommodate this request.  So, it's best to have some antacids ready!
