Trulucks is awesome for SO many reason, but their lobster 'takes the cake.'
The view from this restaurant is so romantic. I love their lobsters. The service is great. The bar is always crowded in the afternoon. I guess this is where people hang out after work.
First of all, the South African Lobster was the best lobster ever! We shared lobster mashed potatoes, crab fried rice, garlic sautéed spinach and steamed broccoli as our family style sides.
I am a true lobster lover and the best way to cook lobsters, is that you need to be careful handling them. If you have never handled live lobster before, keep the bands on! Some lobstermen insist on removing the claw bands before cooking. The rubber bands, they say, impart an off taste to the water and to the lobster. Only salty and experienced lobster lovers should remove them before cooking.
Trulucks clearly follows this process.
At Trulucks, they make a mean old-fashioned, and we savored each one. We decided to try all new dishes this visit. We ordered the lobscargot appetizer and it is sinfully rich and delicious! I mean what's not to love about lobster, butter, and cheese?! We got the prime king crab leg, it comes scored so you just get to enjoy the delicate meat without having to work for it. Best king crab I've had, and the butter it's served with just elevated the taste to the next level. We also had the crispy brussel sprouts which we thoroughly enjoyed. We ordered the crab fried rice after seeing tons of reviews for it, we only ate a few bites since we were so focused on the king crab, but it was our least favorite dish. Then we finished the night with the carrot cake - this thing is huge and oh so good! The cake is moist and not too dense, the cream cheese icing is perfection, and then they top it with a butterscotch drizzle. We left very full and very happy. And shout out to our awesome waitress, Victoria, who provided very attentive and personal service. We enjoyed her company, bubbly personality and recommendations!
