Before I uploaded this posting, it had been years since I've been here. It was on the regular rotation for coworkers a few years back, but I had forgotten about it until the kid mentioned it by looking it up on Yelp! I also had forgotten to write a review back then. I believe I wrote one for the smaller location which has since closed.
As I remembered, still a family-friendly, homey place. It's actually quite a large restaurant and looks like it would be great for larger groups. There's plenty of space. When you first walk in, it looks like a typical deli, turn to your right and you enter a spacious restaurant.
Kenny & Ziggy's offers what else? Pastrami/Corned Beef sandwiches. French dip, burgers, triple decker sandwiches, etc. I decided to split our sandwich and I was really too full to get the Matzo ball soup which I love. The potato salad condiment was SO delish. Usually, mayo-based side condiments are just creamy with not a lot of flavor and easy to dismiss. This one truly complemented my corned beef sandwich.
My family & I are truly captivated by the Corn Beef on Rye sandwiches here and let me tell you, although the prices are a little high, the sandwich sizes are large and compensate for costs. We've tried other deli's but none of them compare. In other words, you get what you pay for.
Located a block from the amazing Galleria Mall, I figured out a great way to burn off the calories when my meal was over. So if you are in H-town and are in need of a deli fix, this be the place!
