When you're driving from Austin to Houston (or Houston to Austin), there's a city of LaGrange that sits almost in the center of your journey. Do yourself a favor just one - visit a spot named.
I had heard about this spot from two friends and two family members. So I had to give it shot on my next long drive to Austin. I found the spot and waited over 20 minutes in line. When I finally got up there to place my order, the lady making my tacos was so rude I left. I messaged the restaurant on Facebook and immediately received a message back with an apology. Sometimes that's all it takes.
Then, I went back and gave it a second try. And since I went in twice to experience the food, let me give you a little advice - Walk in, go left to end of the counter and order your taco. The homemade flour tortillas are burrito size and delicious. List of meats are on the wall behind the counter. We had carne guisada and spicy beef tacos, both delicious. I had two but should have had one. The salsa was fresh and not too spicy. There were 6 tables inside and a few outside but most people got their tacos to go.
I also had the chorizo combo breakfast taco, my fiancée had the combo at beans and rice and they both were absolutely delicious. I would recommending adding the beans and rice to your taco. The hot sauce was very good and the prices were great! I will definitely be back for more tacos because they really are the best in town.
