Sometimes a meal IS worth it. Regardless of the bill. And when this is the case (and you're really celebrating an amazing moment in your life) consider one place in Austin, Texas - Jeffery's.
If you're looking for a nice, fancy (albeit pricey) dinner in Austin, Jeffrey's is the place! As a party of 6, we tried dishes across the entire menu and everyone was impressed by every dish. In particular, the foie gras, truffle deviled eggs, and bread pudding desserts were shining stars that I still think about to this day. Service was great, with staff offering helpful suggestions on wine pairings. The ambiance is beautiful and conducive to a great conversation -- in short, you can't go wrong!
It was our first time there...and I was impressed. Deliciousness in every bite! The bread balls were to die for, dip was amazing. Ham croquets melt in our mouths. Oysters tasted very yummy too. Seafood risotto perfectly made with lots of large pieces of seafood, including lobster. Brussel sprouts were very well caramelized and mushrooms complimented risotto. Since we celebrated my birthday, I received a beautiful ice cream ball covered in chocolate with a candle, that was an unexpected treat, plus a couple more treats to wrap things up. Service great, everybody was very attentive and did not have to wait much between meals. We were very very full and did not order a dessert, but saw an amazing raspberry dessert a couple at the next table ordered and it looked beautiful. It was an amazing dinner to perfection.
I love this location older and hip but not pretentious. The low light and blue velvet chairs makes for a nice mellow vibe. We will definitely be back and sooner rather than later.
