When it comes to Quiche, I always go to Upper Crust. Upper Crust Bakery is simply the best bakery I have ever had the pleasure to visit! The cream puffs & chocolate éclairs' thin delicate shells ooze vanilla bean flecked cream goodness. The cinnamon rolls are incredible too and I've never had a slice of their cake I didn't like either.
Now, about the quiche - Loved the vegetarian quiche. Very cost effective for a huge slice. Also, consider ordering the Spinach and Cheese - A perfect way to start off a breakfast or brunch gathering, with our homemade quiche with fluffy egg, garlic sautéed spinach, and Gruyère cheese in a flaky pastry crust.
But the secret to Upper Crust’s amazing quiche selection isn’t really a secret at all: It turns out quiche isn’t primarily an egg dish; it’s primarily a cream and milk dish. Quiche filling should contain just enough eggs to prevent it from being soupy, but the eggs are (literally) a supporting player. It’s the butterfat in the cream and milk that is responsible for a good quiche’s disarmingly rich texture…and Upper Crust seems to have it down to a science.
Just be aware that Upper Crust closes at 1pm on Sundays and they usually run out things fast around 11/noon time and come here early if you don't want to miss out on some goodies! I think their coffee can be better but I can't complain much because I just love the environment there and the prices are so affordable. They've been around for 28 years and the interior gives a vintage and cozy vibe, I love it. I want to continue to support them!
Very cute and cozy local bakery. There is nothing more that I love than walking into a bakery with the counters filled with various pastries and breads and the smell of fresh coffee. I started my day here and got the cinnamon roll (highly suggested by a local patron), a cream cheese croissant, and a ham and cheese croissant. I am definitely glad that I took the patron's advice because the cinnamon rolls had a nice texture to it where it had a nice crust on the outside but a soft, warm interior. It clearly outshines the croissants. Upper Crust is located directly across the street from Learning Ally, near the intersection of Burnet Road and 45th street; lots of parking on the front and sides of the building for your convenience.
